A Servant Leader Colin first made his mark on Urban in 1996 as a committed volunteer for Outreach Kids Club, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping the parking lots, and painting buses by hand. He immediately made his mark as a leader by organizing the first leadership conference, Divine Strategies for Strengthening The Inner City, which lead to the formation and mission of The Urban Restoration in 1998. As a founding member of the board of directors, he used his marketplace and community influence to help build financial and volunteer base of the ministry, which laid the foundation for the 14 current ministries of Urban.
A Marketplace Leader In over 20 years of market place leadership as a business manager with McDonalds, Marriott Hotels, Sun Suites Hotels, and Advance Auto Parts, he consistently distinguished himself as a multi-talented performer being recognized for his excellent management effectiveness and business results. He has served on the National Diversity Council for Hotels, President of the Managers Network Chapter, President of the Northeast Business Forum, and he has been recognized many times for top sales and profit results and superior associate and customer satisfaction ratings. He was most notably recognized for his ability to train and develop other leaders throughout his business career and he served as mentor and trainer to dozens of managers and leaders who continue to excel in their prospective fields.
A Community Leader As a young manager with McDonald’s in 1984, He gained the passion and vision to use his professional skills to serve the needs of community by helping individuals and organizations in need. From Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, and now Charlotte, NC he has dedicated his time and energy to reach out to the homeless, drug addicts, trouble teenagers, and fatherless children, with the thought that “to whom much is given, much is required”. Since 2004 he has been a mainstay of the PTA at Pawtucket Academy of Excellence serving as President, Co-President, Fundraising Chair, and parent advocate. Colin is also privileged to serve as volunteer chaplain for the Charlotte Bobcats.
A Ministry Leader Without question, Colin attributes all of his leadership ability and passion to serve from his calling to Christian ministry. Since being ordained as a minister in 1992, he has served as Administrative Pastor for Metro Tabernacle Church, Sunday School Teacher and Men’s Ministry Advisor at Central Church of God, Co-Pastor of Faith Fellowship of Charlotte and National Trainer for the National Center for Fathering . With the many needs and problems that plaque our communities, Colin has a vision for high impact leadership, starting with Christian men fulfilling their God-given destiny to serve and lead in their homes as they serve and lead in their communities, to the Glory of God.
