Our Mission...
Second Chance Youth Group works with ‘at risk’
youth ages twelve through eighteen from Charlotte’s
most impoverished Westside neighborhoods. Second Chance Youth
provides mentoring, life-mapping, educational accountability,
job skills training, spiritual training, and fellowship. Throughout
the year area youth participate in the Friday Night Youth
Jam; featuring devotions, prayer, and fun activities in a
safe and enriching environment. The Youth Group also helps
lead Outreach Kid’s Club and participates in many outings
including camping, sporting events, and youth rallies.
Our Leader... Johnny Daniels (Johnny ‘D’)
grew up in urban Detroit. As an inner city teen Johnny succumbed
to the pressures of drug use, crime, and gang activity. In
1992 Johnny was severely burned in an explosion that nearly
took his life. As Johnny’s burning body was blown out
of a second story window he heard the Lord speak clearly to
him – “Get up – I’ve given you a second
chance to live for me”! Since that day Johnny has dedicated
his life to reaching youth for Christ through Second Chance
Youth Group.
